With reference to the Key Stage 2 programme of study in English, pupils had an opportunity to develop their speaking and listening skills in presentations of their work with their talk partners and the whole class.

During the story writing activity they were able to develop their group discussion and interaction skills in mixed ability groups.

They were able to develop a wide range of writing skills through composition, planning and drafting, punctuation, spelling, handwriting and presentation.

The story writing activity dovetailed into the school's National Literacy Strategy 'literacy hour'. The following link will give more details of the literacy planning.
