Process Diagram for Scanning

Using RM Colour Magic and HP Precision Scan Pro

1.Log on:
Username: Brown or Blue (+ your number) Password: Brown or Blue (+ your number)

2. Start RM Colour Magic;
Click green 'start' button
Click 'All Programs'
Click 'Curriculum Resources'
Click 'RM Colour Magic'
Choose 'Red' level and click

3. Place image or object to be scanned in scanner, face down in the top right hand corner.
Select 'File' menu.
Choose 'Acquire image' from drop down menu.

4. HP Precision Scan Pro starts - WAIT while it makes an initial scan.
Follow 'Guided Steps'
'1' Use your cursor to draw a selection area
'2' select 'True Colour' in menu
'4' Click the arrow to finish the scan
(ignore step 3)

5. PC returns to RM Colour Magic
Click 'View' in top menus
Click on 'Zoom Out 'in drop down menu
Click on screen several times until you can see the whole image.

6. Click on 'File'
Click on 'Save As'
Save in: My Pictures Filename: Type in a filename (include your name and object/image description)
Save as type: JPEG (select from drop down menu)
Click 'Save!

7. To add text: Select 't' tool in left hand vertical tool bar
Select the 't' in a box at the bottom left hand corner
Select font, size (32-72), bold etc., and colour (choose to contrast with your image) - in the same way as First Talking Word.

8. To type in your text: Click on page,
click and drag to make a text box
Type in your text.

9. To tile your image: Select special tools - second bottom tool on left hand vertical tool bar
Select tool with cross and four green squares
Place cursor/tool on image and click once to create four tiles.

10. To print: Click on 'File' and select 'Print'
