David Ogle I'm 40 years
old, from the town near Newcastle that spawned the Geordie 'national anthem'
The Blaydon Races. After doing a Physical Electronics degree at Newcastle
Polytechnic, I became a magazine journalist for 13 years, working on athletics
and then outdoor and photography magazines. At various times I was editor
of the outdoor magazines; Trail and Lakeland Walker, Camping, and also
Practical Photography. I then became freelance and worked for such titles
as FHM, Ride and a grown-up version of Loaded called Later - which has
since folded. I'd been thinking about becoming a teacher for about ten
years before eventually applying for and getting a PGCE place at Bath
Spa University College in 2001/2. I completed my first year of teaching
at Pooles Park Primary School and currently hold the post of ICT
