Meera Chauda's work explores aspects of her cultural identity using collage, photography, stitch and drawing. Central to her work is the fusion of images from childhood narratives creating states of confusion and irony, exploring the boundaries of what is real and unreal.
Recent work focuses on the hybrid fragmented character of Dorothy cum Parvati a forthright and fearless girl who embarks on a journey never escaping her battle of being home and away.
Chauda has exhibited both nationally and internationally including The Norwich Gallery, The New Art gallery Walsall and The British Council Queens Gallery, New Delhi. She was Artist in Residence at the crafts Council in 2006.
She has worked as a creative educator in schools for 10 years and has devised projects with schools, community groups, pupil referral units and hospital schools.
She has also worked with many organisations including Tate Britain, Camden Arts Centre, LIFT, and the British Library.
